Updates on COVID-19

Update as of Monday, 15 February 2021

Update on Services at Alert Level 3

Auckland’s Move into Alert Level 3 from 11.59pm Sunday 14th February has meant we have had to make changes to our physical attendance at our head office based in Auckland. Our factory and warehouse will continue to operate, but with strict protocols and procedures based on our previous experience and guidance from the Ministry of Health.  Most other staff will work from home as normal, at normal hours and providing our standard services.

We have assumed that deliveries through the Auckland region during Alert Level 3 will be disrupted with many workplaces closing during this time and restrictions on travel. However, we will be making contact with our customers who are due to have goods and services delivered and carried out this week.

We will continue to make and despatch orders to all other parts of NZ as they are due, following Level 2 protocols and procedures based on previous experience and guidance from the Ministry of Health. We are unsure if any of our regular services will be disrupted at this time, but will be talking to all service providers and keeping our teams and customers up to date.

The Wellington Office will be operating as normal under Level 2 protocols and procedures. It is important that if you wish to visit us, you make an appointment in advance.

Please stay safe and, like us, follow the guidance and rules set out by the government during this time so we are able to return to Level 1 as soon as possible.

Update on Services at Alert Level 3

In response to the recent announcement regarding Auckland’s move into Level 3 from midday today, please be advised that:

  • The Auckland office will be closed and our sales and office staff will be operating from home after 12pm today, however our Goods Inwards, Despatch and Factory are all currently still operating, under Level 3 protocols. Our offices outside Auckland will remain open at this point until such time as the situation changes.
  • Depending on our client requirements, our sales@vidak.co.nz will respond to your enquiries and our project managers will be in touch and will continue working to verify if your business is able to accept deliveries and installations.
  • To ensure the safety of our team, if any of your staff are unwell please ask them to stay home and get tested if required.
  • We will be following all government protocols regarding PPE, sanitizing and social distancing, and our staff will call ahead before arriving on site.

This situation may remain in place for longer than three days, and we will review and adjust our approach as required.

Update as of Tuesday, 28 April 2020

Update on Services at Alert Level 3

The Government’s move to Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28th of April is great for us and for you, our customers. Vidak, and our supply chain, can begin to manufacture, deliver and install furniture again for you during this time.

We have spent the last week ensuring safe working practices are in place for our people and our subcontractors to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We want all our people to be able to get back to work as safely as possible. Copies of our Site Specific Safety Plans and Safe Work Methods are available for review. Please request from your Vidak project manager.

We have a lot of work that was due to be delivered during the time we were under Alert Level 4 and is due for delivery now and in the coming weeks. Orders are at various stages so we are working with our operations and supply chain teams to confirm new delivery dates for you. You will have, and will continue to be, contacted by our project delivery teams with a variety of questions so we can secure dates for delivery of your furniture as soon as possible and work with you to complete the work you have committed with us.

We understand that there are a number of considerations your organisations have in order to provide us with the information we need. We apologise in advance if we can’t meet the exact date you need, as like you we have a number of elements and considerations we are working through, so we ask that you respond at your earliest convenience and keep in touch with us with any information that will help us re-plan your work.

Working from home.

The majority of us are still working from home during this time, as we have been under Alert Level 4, and are available to support you with all our usual services, albeit remotely.

Our teams have become very good at video calls, so welcome the opportunity to meet online and work through projects or have a coffee catch up.

Specifically for our customers, we have put together a home furniture offering for those organisations that require furniture for staff working from home.

Please contact your Vidak rep, who will be able to provide you with options or email sales@vidak.co.nz and one of the team will contact you.

New Product

We have kept busy during Alert Level 4 with the release of new product lines, and excitingly we have more to come in the coming months.

New to the portfolio and available to view online are:

We also  have new lighting, agile furniture and expanded Aerial workstation range.

Please stay safe, and like us, continue to follow the rules and guidelines so we can move down the Alert Levels and keep our country moving in a positive direction to support our people and our economy.

Final close out of Vidak premises is being completed today.

We are successfully up and running from our homes, able to help with what you need, so please keep in touch with us and keep us busy.

Planning is in place for the assumed reduction from Alert Level 4 in April and ensuring business continuity and delivery when we are able.

We have been building an online Vidak community with MS Teams and are staying connected throughout the day and setting daily tasks to work on.

Many of our people are happy to have some time to get on top of their outstanding work and projects at this time and start new ones.

So proud of our people and what they are doing at this time!

Update as of Monday, 23 March 2020

All staff are heading home for self-isolation supporting the New Zealand Government's initiatives to control the spread of the pandemic.

Work from home measures are all in place.

Factory and Despatch has been shut from Monday 23rd.

We have started implementing virtual connection and collaboration so our people stay connected with the greater Vidak family over the isolation period and ensure we support one another.

Directors and Senior Managers will be communicating with all staff and key customers over the coming weeks as we learn how COVID-19 and Alert Level 4 affects everyone, so we can assist during the isolation periods and are ready to hit the ground running when we are able to.

We wish everyone all the best as you navigate through the next steps in a world that has changed very rapidly.

Update as of Monday, 16 March 2020

Dear clients and partners,

With the rapid spread of COVID-19, our focus has been on ensuring we are focusing on the wellbeing of our people, business and communities. We are following all recommendations from the New Zealand Government including the Ministry of Health, and communicating with our people about our policies and expectations in relation to it. We are also communicating this to our subcontractors who are working on your sites for us.

We have suspended all international business travel as of last week.

There is no disruption to our operations, and all our teams are up and running as per normal. Our management and supply chain team has been ensuring we have stock parts and products to deliver on committed projects and on our forecasted normal demand.

If required we have plans in place should our staff need to work from home for various reasons. We have a number that can and do, and we are working on ensuring others are able to should they be required.

We are being vigilant, but at the same time are continuing with business improvement and innovation as we would under normal circumstances.

How can you help us:

  • Please let us know if there are any restrictions or additional procedures required to visit, attend or work on your sites.
  • Keep us up to date with your current and future needs so we can help plan for them.

This is an extraordinary situation that we have never had to deal with before, and we are conscious of making the right decisions.

We appreciate your partnership and ongoing understanding through this difficult time.

Thank you and stay healthy,

Jono Vidak – Sales Director
