Originally moving into a space that was set up by MBIE, MHUD needed to develop and deliver a permanent headquarters in Wellington in a 12 – 18months period, a challenge for any organisation, not to mention a newly formed one.
The consolidation of MHUD into a single Wellington building offered significant opportunities to deliver on strategic and operational objectives.
The delivery of the new space needed to consider time, budget and sustainability, while delivering an environment that was innovative, supportive, flexible and connected to MHUDs culture and purpose.
Vidak worked with MHUD reviewing their existing space and testing new solutions and reconfiguration of layouts to assist with their move to a new single building solution.
Vidak also provided a sustainable and cost saving solution of reuse for a number of MHUD existing furniture pieces including workstations, meeting furniture and soft furnishing, reducing sizes of workstations, recovering certain soft pieces and providing a relocation service.
